Big Time Gangsta – Experience the Thrills of the Streets
While most games are centered on a valiant hero who needs assistance to do something good, well-known developers Glu Mobile have put out the Big Time Gangsta app, where the focus is street survival and criminal deeds. The goal of the game is to become the biggest gangsta of all by stealing money, weapons, turf, and people (to become crew members). The app is reminiscent of the Grand Theft Auto series, with shootouts at every turn.

The game opens with a street view of your city. A gun icon indicates the building is currently occupied by someone else, which also means it’s available for takeover, if you have enough cash.

There is a tutorial in the beginning of the game, but as it is in English, certain vocabulary may be difficult for Chinese users to understand.

Attacking is a must - with successful shootouts, players acquire cash, experience, crew members, and turf.

If you run out of money to expand your turf, you can hire someone to help you or buy weapons. However, while the app itself is free, some weapons require in-game purchases.

Gangsters have consciences too – if one of your crew members gets caught in the crossfire, they automatically get a stay in the hospital, and the bill gets deducted from your cash pile.

There are too many levels and missions to describe them all, but the bottom line is that Gangstas is a managing game that will take a while to beat. However, as the main focus of the game is directing your crew, and there is quite a bit of explanatory information, the app is somewhat less exciting than simple shooters. Big Time Gangsta has been transplanted from the iPhone to the Android platform, and is supported by 2.1 and higher versions.
