Stitcher Smart Radio – A Plethora of Podcasts

Stitcher Smart Radio was one of last week’s Featured Apps on the Android Market, and is also available on the iPhone. What’s special about this app? It has a plethora of Internet radio stations and podcasts, and the developers have provided enough bandwidth for online listening. The majority of content is in English, but there are music stations as well. Whether your goal is education or entertainment, there is sure to be a something that will fit your needs on Stitcher Smart Radio.

In the Live category, users can search for nearby radio stations currently broadcasting. However, this feature is for the U.S. only, as stations in other countries, including Taiwan, are not available.

The app also has a featured stations list, updated at randomly in Stitcher’s Picks.

There are plenty of functions – users can share their current station on FaceBook, add stations as favorites, and check out what others are listening to. Older podcasts are available as well, and some news channels are available in separate episodes.

Stitcher Radio is a cross-platform app, available for both Android and iPhone. There are plenty of channels, and the connection is fast and stable – virtually no wait time and no dropped signals. However, as the content is mainly in English and focused on the United States, the app is not ideal for Chinese speakers, unless they are interested in international news or looking to practice their English listening skills.
